Stephen Hawking is a popular British theoretical physicist and cosmologist. The 73 year-old scientist is known for his theories in quantum mechanics and cosmology.

On the other hand, Yuri Milner is a Russian businessman who is known for founding Digital Sky Technologies which is now known as Mail.ru. The 53 year-old businessman is now teaming up with Hawking in an attempt to find life beyond our home planet.

Milner, who is known for his philanthropy and generous contributions, has taken it a step further by funding a $100 million research team to work on an archetype radio and optical surveying tools that would help to possibly find exra-terrestrial life.

The division called the Breakthrough Listeners will have the best SETI, or Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence, experts working on the matter.

Hawking and Milner released a podcast from London quite recently announcing their plans for their search of alien life forms.

The Breakthrough Listen team will be using the world’s largest telescope, also known as the Green Bank Telescope, for their project as well.

Hopefully, their studies and attempts will be successful in finding the friendlier aliens.
