Whole Foods Market has been Fooling Customers All Along

The Whole Foods Market chain was established first in Austin Texas on the 20th of September 1980. Ever since, it has been the guilt free place to shop for edible items. The chain specializes in selling wholesome and organic foods like the name suggests.

Most grocery chains in the States have their fair share of controversies and issues. Seemingly, Whole Foods is not far behind anymore. Apparently, the chain store has been over charging customers for products that are pre-packaged.

The commissioner of New York City’s Department of Consumer Affairs even said that this is the, “worst case of mislabelling” that he has come across.

The investigators seem to have found the wrong weight labels on at least 80 types of pre-packaged foods. The store overcharged for these products for as high as $14.84. Michael Sinatra, the spokesperson for Whole Foods said the food store, “never intentionally used deceptive practices to incorrectly charge customers.”

Also, the food store says that the wrong labels of the pre-packaged foods are the fault of the manufacturer and not the Whole Foods retail store. Sinatra has been vigorously defending the allegations against the store since the investigation.
