On Wednesday, the U.S. offered more weaponry to assist Kyiv in preparing for a counter-attack while Russian soldiers attacked Bakhmut.

Following months of attack in eastern Ukraine, its military leaders have stated a counter-offensive is coming but highlighted the significance of retaining towns, notably Bakhmut, and inflicting losses.

“American and European political circles are actively discussing our counter-attack – probably to excess,” said Defense Express director Serhiy Zgurets.

On the Espresso TV website, he said that Ukrainian officials must convince friends that a single advance driving Russian soldiers back will not be enough for victory.

“It will require training our forces in NATO member-states, acquiring the weapons and ammunition we need, and determining when and where to commence the counter-attack, or if it should be in numerous areas at once.”

After he and U.S. President Joe Biden decided to engage China to end the conflict, French President Emmanuel Macron visited China on Wednesday.

In early 2022, China and Russia struck a “no boundaries” collaboration agreement weeks before President Vladimir Putin ordered tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine.

China has promoted a Ukrainian peace proposal without criticizing Putin.

Throughout the past 13 months of the war, Poland has taken in over a million Ukrainian refugees. Zelenskiy went there. The NATO member persuaded other Western governments to equip Ukraine with combat tanks and other weapons.
