Ukraine claimed it downed over 30 missiles and drones. On Friday, Ukrainian soldiers in Kyiv said they shot down more than 30 Russian missiles and drones overnight and injured two people with falling debris before lifting air raid alerts over much of the nation.

Since May, Russia has fired 20 missiles and drones toward Ukrainian cities.

On Telegram, Kyiv military authorities claimed Russia launched drones and cruise missiles simultaneously.
“According to preliminary information, more than 30 air targets of various types were detected and destroyed in the airspace over and around Kyiv by air defence forces,” they said in a statement.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated on Telegram that there were no rescue calls after two waves of strikes. Ukraine’s military says Russia launched 15 missiles and 18 drones.
Kyiv region authorities reported two debris-related injuries, including a toddler.

“In addition, the falling debris damaged five private houses,” the state administration wrote on Telegram.

Ukraine consistently claims its defenses defeat most Russian missiles and drones.
