UK regulator investigates Amazon’s iRobot acquisition.

On Tuesday, Britain’s competition authority announced a “Phase 1” investigation into Amazon.com Inc.’s (AMZN.O) $1.7 billion acquisition of Roomba maker iRobot Corp.

The CMA had until June 16 to decide if the arrangement would reduce U.K. competition.

Reuters received no response from Amazon or iRobot.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is reviewing Amazon’s August 2018 smart home deal.
