CNN reported Thursday that former U.S. President Donald Trump lost an attempt to prevent former Vice President Mike Pence from testifying in the special counsel examination investigating efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
After a Justice Department judgment this month, Trump attorneys filed the appeal.
However, Pence said he would not challenge a judge’s judgment that forces him to testify to a federal grand jury regarding his contacts with Trump before the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
CNN reported that D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals judges Patricia Millett, Robert Wilkins, and Greg Katsas issued a unanimous ruling in a personal case on Wednesday night.
Pence’s spokesperson was silent. Trump’s spokesperson didn’t immediately reply to Reuters.
