Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) has halted sales of the Yaris ATIV. Still, senior executives said Monday that the vehicle is safe and that all parties should cooperate on inspections and inquiries.

Toyota’s CEO for Asia, Masahiko Maeda, told a Bangkok news conference that customers’ cars were safe and high-quality. However, Maeda complained about manufacturing demands and automobile production deadlines.

Last Monday, Toyota revealed Daihatsu had faked part of the door in side-collision safety tests for 88,000 compact vehicles, most of which were marketed under the Toyota brand.
