Tiare Noelani Pinto is the founder, Lead Designer, and President of Archipelago Homes. She helps thousands of people to live contemporary island lifestyles. Tiare is a certified designer from the NKBA board, and she also possesses a Green Professional identity.

Let me take you back to my self-identification moment. My life in high school was full of dramas. However, I realized later that I had a passion for designs, so my room in Kailua high school was unique. Later, I joined the Art Institute of Colorado to study graphics, fashion, and designs. For the four years I was there, I made hundreds of friends. Furthermore, I joined various design clubs and participated in various activities.

After graduating, I felt like education was not enough at the moment. I was still young. So, my parents took me back to the Chaminade University of Honolulu to get a degree in Interior design. In 1991, I started collaborating with real-life designers to get experience. In my last year at Chaminade, I was the president of ASID, representing over a thousand students. We also went through an intensive two-year design program that was useful in my profession.

Immediately after I graduated, I got a job at a local design company. Working under strict instruction was hard, the thing I had not used to. So in 1996, I set up my first startup called TCB Island Interiors. An interior design firm that offered a consultation service for almost ten years. I decided to sell it out in 2006.

I sold it because I had something unique in my mind. Within a few months, I set up Archipelago Hawaii, offering full-service designs worldwide. Its headquarters are at Kapaa Quarry Place, Kailua.

In 2009, other Designs by Tiare popped up. I had enough capital, so I gave it a try. I had gathered full experience from my past companies at this point, and I wanted to expand my territory. Although I tried, the company did not explode as I had thought it would.

So I decided to focus on Archipelago Hawaii. I have a wonderful team who can grasp different ideas and design quality homes from scratch. We also model Kitchen and Bath Designs. Other services include Planning, Furnishings, Art, Accessories, Linens, and window treatment. Whenever I get a client, I ensure I have done my best to bring visions into reality.

My hobby is volunteering in various places to ensure people are comfortable within their environment. In 2003, I joined NKBA Hawaii Chapter as a volunteer member. I have chaired many committees for almost 14 years. Furthermore, I work with Heart Walk company as an executive representative. This is where we raise funds to help the Heart Association expand.

For 31 years, I have served ASID Hawaii as a volunteer student, board member, and chairperson. I was also president-elect at some point before I dropped the opportunity. To add to that, in 2009, I co-chaired the American Heart Association Hawaii. We are responsible for collecting donations every evening in Heart Ball court.

To a younger Tiare Noelani Pinto, identifying your passion while young can have many advantages. Then study and get the required knowledge and skills. There are more than enough opportunities. Everyone was born for a purpose.

When you feel tired, there is always motivation that comes along. The challenges you face will come up with many opportunities to make you succeed. One has to stay focused and gather courage because life is full of challenges. You will never run away from a difficult moment. But the way you handle any obstruction will define who you are.
