Tate Koenig is the founder of The Cheese Chopper. This is a tool that gives an efficient and fast way to slice, grate or store cheese. The Chopper can fit 2 pounds of cheese, keeping it airtight and safe. In addition, the tool requires minimal effort to clean. Slicers and greater provided within the box are very easy to wash. They will not even scrape their fingers like cleaning a box grater.
The invention is the brainchild of Mr.Koeing. Tate Koenig, who also calls himself Mr. Cheese, created The Cheese Chopper in order to bring a drastic change to the way people grate, slice, and store cheese.
I like cheese, and like any other cheese lover, I buy and eat a lot of cheese. It is expensive, but one way to save money is by buying blocks of cheese. Unfortunately, it is hard to access uniform slices, and cleaning cheese graters is hard and potentially dangerous. Also, storing blocks of cheese can result in waste.
That is why I invented The Cheese Chopper, a 3 in 1 cheese “machine.” The tool allows you to store your block of cheese in a plastic box. Then, when you need some cheese, you pick either the “soft” cheese slices or the “hard” cheese slices or choose the grating attachment. You grate or slice your cheese right in the plastic box, and when you are done, close it up and put it inside the fridge.
I got the business going with a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $100,436 in June 2020. Also, in the same month, I had a successful IndieGoGo campaign that raised $111,826. Like many people trying to start a business during the Covid-19 pandemic, I ran into a manufacturing slowdown. Also I started delivering Cheese Choppers in mid-February 2021.
I went to the Shark Tank show seeking $75,000 for 10% equity in the business. Then I gave my pitch then the sharks examined their samples. When I told them about my Kickstarter, there were concerns. The sharks believe I have no true feedback from customers and that it was too early to invest in the business. So I left the show without a deal.
To a young Tate Koenig, do it now! If you have a business or a good idea, do it before someone else does it. Find the money if you need it. Find someone to help if you are in need of help.
There are many ways to make money out there, but none are as painful, difficult, and rewarding as doing it yourself. I spent many years making really good money at a job I did not like, and I was miserable. Now I rise up with a smile on my face, stoked because I know when I give it my all, I will get to reap the rewards.
The Cheese Chopper is still growing its business. We have created our own website and crossed the 100k orders mark already. Also, we are planning to spread into the relaunch with Shark Tank to increase our manufacturing base. To increase the business revenue, we have launched selling cheese-themed t-shirts and coasters on our website as a new initiative on cross-selling opportunities.
