On Tuesday, Microsoft (MSFT.O) and Siemens (SIEGn.DE) unveiled a collaborative endeavor to leverage artificial intelligence to boost output and human-machine interaction.

The two businesses will collaborate to apply generative AI to the industrial, transportation, and healthcare sectors under the Siemens Industrial Copilot program.

Siemens said that Schaeffler AG (SHA_p.DE), a German automotive supplier, is one of the businesses that has embraced the Siemens Industrial Copilot. The alliance, which will also supply Siemens, has not divulged any payment figures.

The initiative will produce AI copilots to help customer company employees plan and schedule production and maintenance and design new goods.

By analyzing data acquired by Siemens, it assists clients in rapidly developing, refining, and debugging intricate automation codes, as well as reducing simulation times at their manufacturing plants and other locations.

Schaeffler has been assisting its engineers in programming industrial automation systems, such as robots, using generative AI. It plans to decrease production downtime by utilizing the Siemens Industrial Copilot.

Siemens claimed that tasks that used to take weeks to do may now be finished in a matter of minutes.

Roland Busch, chief executive of Siemens, stated that “this has the potential to revolutionize the way companies design, develop, manufacture, and operate.”

“Making human-machine collaboration more widely available allows engineers to accelerate code development, increase innovation, and tackle skilled labor shortages.”
