Samuel L. Jackson is the chairman of One For The Boys, a campaign that raises money to go towards the education, care, research, treatment, and awareness campaigns for men with cancer. Due to this, Jackson will be hosting the company’s Fashion Ball in London on June 15.
Sofia Davis founded One For The Boys in 2012, and it has since to be a charity of change. “Men don’t tend to talk about their health issues, worrying about appearing vulnerable. The problem is that they do not have enough information on the subject,” said Jackson.
The event is set to take place at London’s Natural History Museum. Jackson and an unknown guest host are to work alongside prominent fashion designers and celebrities in order to make the show a success.
London Collections: Men emphasized the importance of the month of June, as it is dedicated to men with its inclusion of Father’s Day and The World Cup. They hope to raise mindfulness of cancer’s detrimental effects through a joint effort of the industry.
Jackson’s acting skills will come in handy as he plays the part of a model, sporting designer clothing down the runway with actors Tom Hiddleston, Simon Pegg, David Walliams, and Luke Evans. Designers such as Fendi, Armani and Alexander McQueen will represent their finest clothing.
The night will also include dinner, a reception, and a silent auction to raise money for the campaign. All of the proceeds will go toward the foundation.
