Russian distributor to launch sales of Adidas and Reebok goods—Kommersant. According to a story published in the Kommersant newspaper on Wednesday, a Russian distributor of Western sports brands would begin selling items from Adidas (ADSGn.DE) and Reebok as soon as this week. This is even though both firms have left the market due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Almost immediately after Moscow began its war in Ukraine in February 2022, a large number of Western corporations, including Adidas and Reebok, decided to halt their economic activities in Russia.

After that, Adidas and its competitor Nike (NKE.N) decided to withdraw from the market entirely. According to a report in the Kommersant Daily from May 2022, FLO Retailing of Turkey bought the Authentic Brands Group-controlled Reebok operations in Russia.

Russians have established small-scale imports and online retailers to preserve foreign brands, particularly those of consumer goods not subject to sanctions. These solutions have been developed in response to the brand exodus.

According to a report by Kommersant, the corporation will build a network of mono-brand stores with products from Adidas and Reebok. The story cited the director of the marketing department of Lestate, which is the distributor.

According to Kommersant, Lestate already sells Nike (NKE.N) clothing and footwear in Russia.

There was no indication that Adidas, Reebok, or Nike were assisting Lestate in selling their products.
