Russian media reported Monday that the interior ministry’s database had placed U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham on a wanted list.

Graham told Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Friday that “the Russians are dying” and that U.S. help was the “best money we’ve ever spent” in an edited video published by the Ukrainian president’s office.

Ukraine published the whole meeting footage after Russia criticized the statements, showing the two remarks were unrelated.
Sunday saw Russia’s Investigative Committee launch a criminal investigation following Graham’s remarks. However, it did not state his wrongdoing.

Graham denied Russian claims of his support for Ukraine on Sunday, saying he had applauded Ukrainians’ spirit in opposing a Russian invasion with Washington’s help.

Graham, a hawkish South Carolina Republican, has advocated for more military backing for Ukraine in its war with Russia.
Russia has banned dozens of U.S. officials and elected politicians from visiting the country but rarely arrests them.
