In reaction to Washington’s latest penalties, Russia’s foreign ministry barred 500 U.S. citizens, including former President Obama, on Friday.
The ministry also said Russia had denied the latest U.S. reU.S.t for consular access to Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, imprisoned in March on spying charges.
The statement blamed the U.S. for denU.S. media credentials to accompany Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the U.N. last montU.N.
“Washington should have learned a long time ago that not a single hostile attack on Russia will go unpunished,” it continued.
On Friday, the U.S. announcedU.S.unitive actions against over 300 targets to punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and intensify one of the worst sanctions campaigns ever.
