The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced Friday that Honda Motor (7267.T) recalls 1.2 million US vehicles due to a rearview camera image issue.

2018–2023 Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport automobiles are recalled. The rearview camera may not display due to a broken communication coaxial cable connector.

Honda extended warranties for impacted vehicles in 2021. In a filing with NHTSA, the carmaker reported 273,870 warranty claims relating to the issue between May 2017 and June this year, with no recall-related injuries or deaths.

Dealers will install a straightening cover over the car cable connector and an upgraded cable harness between the display audio and vehicle terminal connectors to correctly connect the audio display unit.
