In Dubai The defense ministry of Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday that the kingdom has inked a contract to purchase four A330 multi-role tanker transport planes from Airbus .
Already in service, the A330 MRTT provides air-to-air refueling and transport capabilities to the Royal Saudi Air Force .
Airbus announced the new transaction, its third overall, and stated that as part of the agreement, it would transfer technology to local enterprises, provide a logistical support package with spare parts, and provide training and service support.

A maiden delivery to the RSAF of the new planes is anticipated for 2027, according to Airbus.
According to Jean-Brice Dumont, chief of air power at Airbus Defense and Space, “The RSAF is now one of the largest MRTT operators” due to this deal being Saudi Arabia’s third for the A330 MRTT.
Localizing the fabrication of multi-mission refueling aircraft and their components was the goal of a deal inked earlier this year between Airbus and Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries
