On Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin warned Ukraine threatened Russia’s survival.

Putin reiterated his claim that the West was trying to break Russia into employees at an aircraft industry in Buryatia, 4,400 kilometers (2,750 miles) east of Moscow.

“Therefore for us this is not a geopolitical issue, but a survival challenge of Russian statehood, providing circumstances for the future growth of the nation and our children,” he stated.

Putin has accused the West of exploiting Ukraine to fight Russia and inflict a “strategic loss”. The US and its allies claim to be defending Ukraine from an imperial-style assault that has destroyed Ukrainian cities, murdered thousands of civilians, and displaced millions.

Putin responded to a query that he was worried about the economy when the West imposed unprecedented sanctions last year, but it was stronger than predicted.

“We have enhanced our economic autonomy many times over. What did our enemies expect? That we will collapse in 2-3 weeks or a month, “they said.

He claimed the adversary expected manufacturing to stop, the banking system to fail, unemployment to soar, demonstrators to go to the streets, and Russia to “sway from within and collapse”.

“This did not happen,” Putin replied. “For many of us, and especially for Western nations, the fundamental roots of Russia’s stability are considerably stronger than anyone expected.”
