According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will lead the delegation to the SCO foreign ministers conference in Goa on May 4 and 5.

This will be the first major Pakistani leader to visit India since Nawaz Sharif attended PM Modi’s 2014 inauguration.

At the 2022 SCO Summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, India assumed the rotating chairmanship of the SCO and will host the Council of Heads of State summit this year.
According to the statement, India has actively engaged with the SCO since becoming a full member state in 2017. New Delhi is focused on proposing initiatives to benefit SCO member states, observers, and dialogue partners.

On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lead a meeting of SCO department heads on emergency preparedness.

On the fringes of the summit, the Home Minister will hold bilateral meetings with some SCO ministers.

The delegates from SCO member nations will discuss large-scale emergency events and their responses at the summit.

Participants will also debate and ratify the action plan for implementing the SCO member states’ 2023-2025 agreement on cooperation in emergency response.

SCO members include China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
