Monday saw Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe add Eversheds Sutherland partners in Germany and France.
Paris restructuring practice head Aurélien Loric joins Orrick. Orrick stated that Loric brings a four-attorney Eversheds team that advises funds on financial and operational restructurings.
Loric is Orrick’s first partner hire from a Paris rival since August 2021.
Loric said the tech industry-focused legal firm’s worldwide platform would allow his team to serve debt funds and financial investors on larger cross-border transactions and collaborate on a tech company and founder deals.
Werner Brickwedde joins the energy transaction practice in Dusseldorf, Germany, after leading Eversheds’ national M&A practice.
Brickwedde advises on offshore wind projects in 15 nations and specializes in energy and infrastructure cross-border M&A, Orrick added.
Oliver Duys, co-head of Orrick’s Germany business, said he joined when the firm’s German and global customers actively pursued energy transition strategies.
An Eversheds Sutherland spokeswoman did not immediately address Paris and Dusseldorf departures.
In October, 21 lawyers from Orrick, Italy, founded an energy advisory firm. In February, Dechert hired the London office boss.
