On Thursday, OpenAI released Dall-E 3, its latest text-to-image tool that employs its popular AI chatbot ChatGPT to fill in prompts.
The business announced that ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise clients can access Dall-E 3 through API in October. ChatGPT lets users request images and change prompts.
“DALL-E 3 can translate nuanced requests into extremely detailed and accurate images,” the business added.
OpenAI says the latest tool will limit its potential to generate violent, pornographic, or malicious content.
The tool can also reject requests for photographs of prominent figures by name or living artists.
Creators can opt out of training future text-to-image systems, according to OpenAI.
OpenAI’s competitors, including Alibaba’s Tongyi Wanxiang, Midjourney, and Stability AI, are improving their image-generating models.
However, AI-generated visuals raise problems. In August, a Washington D.C. court found that AI-created art without human involvement could not be copyrighted.
Several lawsuits target OpenAI. Grisham and “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin sued the artificial intelligence leader for illegally training its chatbot ChatGPT on their work.
