On Wednesday, Nvidia Corp (NVDA.O) announced that one of its mid-range gaming processors would include additional artificial intelligence features to boost visuals, highlighting the company’s commitment to gaming despite falling sales.

Nvidia’s new RTX 4070 chip, which will arrive on Thursday, will cost $599, placing it in the center of the company’s GPU lineup, up to $1,600.

According to March Steam poll results, the updated RTX 3060 is the fourth most popular gaming chip.

In recent years, Nvidia’s data center chips for training artificial intelligence systems like ChatGPT have driven revenue growth. Still, gaming chips made up about a third of its $26.9 billion in fiscal 2023 revenue, down 27% due to a weak PC market.

Nvidia processors make PC games appear more realistic by rendering visuals faster on high-resolution displays. In addition, the 4070 CPUs with Nvidia’s latest AI technology will be the cheapest.

The latest Nvidia gaming chips employ artificial intelligence to forecast the values of around seven out of eight pixels on a screen, including producing complete frames and saving time.

Games aren’t pre-recorded like movies—dynamic, moving, and user input. I can’t insert a frame midway between two. I must fully comprehend the movements between frames.” In an interview, GeForce senior director Justin Walker noted.
