North Korea’s Kim warns of ‘nuclear attack’ if provoked with nukes. According to state media on Thursday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un declared that his country would not think twice about using nuclear weapons to provoke an adversary.
According to the KCNA news agency, Kim commented while meeting with troops who work for the military’s missile office. He complimented them on Pyongyang’s latest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch exercise.
According to KCNA, he claimed that the test demonstrated the armed forces’ allegiance and firm stance and was “a clear explanation of the offensive counteraction mode and the evolution of the nuclear strategy and doctrine of the DPRK not to hesitate even in a nuclear attack when the enemy provokes it with nukes.”
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the official name of the North, is shortened to DPRK. In response to growing hostility from the United States, North Korea stated this week that it launched its newest intercontinental ballistic missile on Monday.
The senior diplomats from South Korea, Japan, and the United States denounced North Korea’s latest ballistic missile launches. They called on Pyongyang to participate in “substantive dialogue without preconditions” in a joint statement released on Wednesday.
According to KCNA, Kim stated that Monday’s launch demonstrated the military’s muscular mobility and quick strike capacity and urged measures to increase combat effectiveness.
Kim Yo Jong, Kim’s sister, expressed her disapproval of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting about the ICBM launch in a separate statement, claiming it was an exercise of the nation’s right to self-defense.
“The UNSC should place a heavy responsibility on the irresponsible behavior and acts of the U.S. and the ROK, which have aggravated the tension on the Korean peninsula through all sorts of military provocations all year round,” she stated.
The official name of South Korea is the Republic of Korea or ROK. As part of Washington’s commitment to Seoul to improve defense preparedness, the United States, South Korea, and Japan conducted a combined air practice on Wednesday that featured an American strategic bomber. This is the most recent American strategic weapon to be deployed.
