In the world of Playstation gaming headsets, the competition is limited to say the least. Primarily Madcatz, Astro, and Turtle Beach have been the three headset companies that Playstation users turn to most frequently. That’s why Turtle Beach is looking to up the ante at the 2014 E3 convention with two brand new headsets. Though E3 isn’t available to the press until tomorrow afternoon, Forbes was able to get an exclusive look at the new pieces early.

Juergen Stark, CEO of Turtle Beach, told Forbes “Turtle Beach is taking audio for the PlayStation 4 to a new level, with features like DTS, Headphone:X 7.1 surround sound, active noise cancellation, and our new Tournament Audio Controller, it is a whole new game for PlayStation console owners.” And with the video game business being a multi-billion dollar industry, no one wants to miss out on their slice of the pie.

Turtle Beach’s Ear Force Elite 800 will go for around $300 a pair, but don’t worry these headphones come with all the bells and whistles. As previously mentioned the headphones have DTS Headphone:X 7.1 surround sound, dual discrete microphones, and active noise cancellation. The company also claims that it has developed different settings depending on whether the game is a shooter, racer, or sports game.

The headphones even come with software for the PC and an app which allows users to program their own setting for the headset. But what really makes Turtle Beach headphones special this year though, is their ability to connect via Bluetooth. The headphones are also suppose to be able to charge wirelessly through a magnetic stand. A fully charged battery is being reported to deliver 15 hours of use at a time.

If the $300 price tag makes you step back and pause, Turtle Beach is also releasing a pair of headphones for $99. This version is dubbed the Ear Force Stealth 400 and its more expensive counterpart is compatible with both the PS3 and PS4. These headphones offer a decent value as well, with 50mm drivers as well as its ability to work wirelessly.

This set is also expected to get 15 hours of battery life off of a single charge. Unfortunately you will out on the wireless charging. Though you will not be able to customize the headphones settings as specifically as you would with the pricier model, the Stealth 400 is still lightweight, comes with controls on the unit, and a mobile cable that can be plugged in by removing the microphone.

Lastly Turtle Beach is releasing their Elite Tournament Audio Controller as a direct competitor of Astro’s MixAmp. It is compatible with PS3, PS4, Xbox360, PCs, and Macs and comes with features including Dolby AC3 decoding, DTS Headphone:X 7.1 surround, sliders for mixing game and chat audio, background noise limiters, and audio presets. Turtle Beach plans on incorporating the audio controller into tournament-level headsets, and user will be able to plug them into their current headphones for a more inclusive experience.
