Nature’s Variety Recalls Dog Food Due to Salmonella Risk

Sometimes, fresh produce and processed foods can both be quite risky to consume. Sources of contamination are almost everywhere, and it can affect our food at anytime. However, sometimes it isn’t just our food but pet food also that can be just as risky.

The famous dog food company called ‘Nature’s Variety’ has recalled certain variants of their product as the risk of Salmonella has hit the brand.

In a press release, the dog food company has recalled the ‘Instinct Raw Chicken Formula’ that has the ‘best by’ date of the 27th of April 2016. Apparently, that particular batch of cans may probably be affected by Salmonella.

Luckily, there hasn’t been any reported cases of affected animals. The Salmonella from the pet food could also affect humans if they haven’t washed their hands well after serving the food to their pets.

The company advises the owners to see the expiration date below the can of food before letting their pets eat the contents.

Hopefully, there will be no reports of affected pets because of cautious owners.
