Queen of twerking, Miley Cyrus, 21, took home two awards from the World Music Awards. The event was held at Sporting Monte-Carlo on Tues., May 27, in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.
Mariah Carey delayed the event by over an hour before playing her new song “Meteorite”. Carey won the award for pop icon later in the night. When getting her award, Cyrus playfully joked, “Thank God, I thought this party was never going to get started.”
The young popstar wore a Giambattista Valli gown as she performed. The dress was a strapless, colorful blend of greens and blues. Upon accepting the awards, Cyrus wore a Kaufman Franco gown with Versace shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. This gown was a sparkling silver color, with long sleeves. She wore her blonde, boy cut with glossed lips and pristine makeup. Miley Cyrus certainly showcased her capacity for elegance at this event. She provided a flawless vocal performance free of any tongue showing madness.

Cyrus took pictures with her brother Braison, 19, who she said was her date for the night. She took more selfies on her instagram with hashtags such as “#wmaselfie”. The starlet was nominated for 14 awards. She won 2, one award was best pop video for “Wrecking Ball” and the other for best female act.
On NBC tonight, May 28th, a full list of winners will be announced at the 22nd International World Music Awards show.
