On Wednesday, Microsoft (MSFT.O) inked a 10-year license arrangement with Japanese cloud gaming service Ubitus to bring Activision’s (ATVI.O) Call of Duty property.
Microsoft may get E.U. antitrust permission for acquiring Activision through licensing arrangements and other behavioral remedies, but it faces challenges in the U.S. and U.K.
“Microsoft and Ubitus, a prominent cloud gaming service, have formed a 10-year collaboration to stream Xbox P.C. Games and Activision Blizzard titles when the purchase closes,” tweeted Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s gaming business CEO.
In addition to deals with Nvidia (NVDA.O), Nintendo (7974.T), and U.S. distributor Valve Corp, owner of Steam, the business signed a similar pact with cloud gaming service Boosteroid a day earlier.
