On Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov advocated for expanding the United Nations Security Council to offer more representation to countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He stated that this would be done to disrupt what he referred to as Western domination of the world.

During a news briefing, Lavrov stated, “most of the world does not want to live according to the rules of the West.”

In addition, he repeated Moscow’s claim that the West, notably the United States, was attempting to stop Russia and China from acting independently in a multipolar world. This accusation was directed specifically at the United States.
