Kevin Waltermire is an American entrepreneur with diverse knowledge in strategic planning and startups. He is the director of Business development at ONE Cannabis group, located in Denver, Colorado.
Kevin Waltermire runs his two companies: BeverageBoy and MusicBox, whose headquarters are in Charleston, SC. He is always on his feet, helping other startups expand their roots.
I am a proud member of Charlestone University, where I acquired my bachelor’s in Arts and graduated in 2003. After being in the industry for almost seven years, I realized how the world had changed. I needed more skills. So I went back to the College of Charleston to study master’s in Business Administration. This knowledge could help me run my own business.
For sure, I got more opportunities in the world of hospitality. Unity International Investment gave me a chance to showcase my managerial skills. I worked with them for almost four years. My role was to take care of all the operations in real estate. The marketing of properties was also part of my job. Four years later, I resigned.
After a few months, the Akasha-US company offered me an opportunity to serve as a Director of operations. I dealt with all departments involved in communication and marketing. The company has its headquarters at Ann Arbor near Shangai in China. After two years, I was ready t take another path.
In 2013, I started working on my projects. Using my savings, I set up BeverageBoy in July. The BevBoy is a two-part product that includes a classic foam can cooler that will keep your beverage cold for hours. It has a polypropylene arm extension with a weighted weight that balances the weight of the beverage and keeps it upright.
I was interested in technology, although I had not done any course related to it. I love the inventions in technology. So for eight years, I have managed t run my company. Although I sometimes feel like quitting, I have many friends who will motivate me.
Sometimes I always remember why I set up BeverageBoy, which inspires me. The entrepreneurship journey is not easy. But if you stay committed and focused, then nothing is impossible.
In 2015, I realized that source of income was not enough. So, I decided to set up another company known as MusicBox. It’s software that allows people to listen to their music or choice. The website has been in operation for almost seven years now. I am working on the app both for iOS and Android. So, all the users must stay tuned for the new update within the second quarter of the year.
I believe any problem can be solved using technology. All these sub-divisions can create a new world from Artificial intelligence, blockchain, machine learning, data science, and software development. Young people are coming up with innovative ideas. But people must realize that not all ideas can be implemented practically. The worst moment is when you start providing a service or a good, and you realize a strong competitor in the market.
This calls upon young entrepreneurs to engage in research before commencing their journey. If you want to compete with an existing large company, you must be smart or offer a high-quality product. Since I began my entrepreneurship journey, I have seen many opportunities coming m way. Every person has their timing.
In 2018, I joined ONE Cannabis. The company deals the selling franchises to MI, OH, NJ. It acts as a single dispensary producing a lot of items. I have learned a lot from my colleagues at the job. Making friends was a virtue that I feel God blessed me with.
To a younger Kevin Waltermire, be consistent in what you do. Stay focused and trust your journey. Never doubt your mind when you know exactly that you are doing the right thing.
