John Schnatter, also known as Papa John, resigned earlier this year for using the n-word during a conference call. The call was with a marketing agency and soon after the news broke, Schnatter left the pizza empire. Now, Schnatter is running a website called savepapajohns.com. Schnatter is using the platform to speak freely about his life’s work and about his ongoing legal battles with the company.
Schnatter’s site issue the following statement:
“As I said in a recent letter, I miss you all very much. More than words can express! Papa John’s is our life’s work and we will all get through this together somehow, some way. I can only imagine how difficult this entire situation is on you, and I’m very sorry you all have to go through this. Know that in every minute of every day you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Included in this website are links to recent press releases, news articles, and public filings – we are getting the truth out there.”
The website also states:
“The Board wants to silence me. So this is my website, and my way to talk to you.”
Schnatter disagrees with the press that came out about the racist comments and he believes that there is more to the story. The website provides a complete biography of his life and how he got into the pizza business. Since Schnatter has taken legal action, the press has been closely following the story.
