Jimmy Carter, a former president, is going to get hospice care

Listen to the article now

Jimmy Carter passed George H.W. Bush as the former president of the United States and has lived the longest.
His 98th birthday was observed on October 22, 2022.

From January 1977 until January 1981, Carter presided as the 39th president of the United States. He belonged to the Democratic Party.

During his time in office, there was a hostage crisis in Iran, the economy went down, and the Camp David agreements led to a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.

In recent years, Carter has experienced many health problems, including melanoma that spread to his liver and brain.

However, he has responded favorably to treatment, and his family and medical staff are behind him.

The Carter family has asked for privacy during this difficult moment and has thanked his many fans for their care.

Carter restored his legacy through his humanitarian activities, despite the difficulties he endured during his presidency.

For his efforts to find peaceful solutions to international crises, strengthen democracy and human rights, and boost economic and social growth, he was given the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.

He is also known for volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, where he often helped build simple homes.

Since their union in 1946, Carter and his wife Rosalynn have had four children.
