On Monday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that his son would leave as his secretary due to “inappropriate” behavior after images of the son and other relatives presumably taken in jest caused an outcry.
Shotaro Kishida, his secretary, resigned on Thursday owing to “inappropriate” behavior at the official house, Kishida told reporters.
Last week, a magazine revealed images showing the younger Kishida and relatives posing as newscasters at the official home, including the prime minister’s podium.
Opponents slammed them. The findings hurt Kishida, who was popular during the G7 summit in Hiroshima.
