In a meeting with the head of the New Development Bank (NDB), Dilma Rousseff, Honduras head Xiomara Castro made a formal request for the country’s admittance to the BRICS-led New Development Bank (NDB), according to a tweet sent out by Castro’s office late on Friday night.

Castro is in the middle of an official visit to China for six days.

The New Development Bank was established in 2015 by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South African governments, generally referred to as the BRICS countries. The bank’s headquarters are located in Shanghai.
