Holly Heath is the founder of the Cave shake, a ready-to-drink coconut milkshake that is gluten-free, dairy-free, and low in carbohydrates. The drink is available in three different flavors: Chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Cave Shake is an ideal Paleo or Keto snack substitute. The Cave drink is a combination of coconut oil milk and is rich in Medium Chain Triglycerides which are vital for health and energy levels.

Holly Heath and her long-term friend Billie Cavallaro of Los Angeles are the inventors of the Cave shake. The two friends decided to put their own spin on the keto diet and give it some spicing. The Cave shake is a low-carb and high-fat diet that makes the body enter a metabolic condition known as ketosis.

We decided to make some sweet shakes to satisfy cravings while cutting on dairy, sugar, carbs, and gluten. The keto shake that is ready to drink can be a snack, dessert, or meal replacement for anyone on Keto or Paleo diet. My friend Billy was once a Ski-racer, and she would always depend on the Keto diet for inflammations. Also, she admitted to having found solace in a Keto lifestyle to heal her body after she was involved in an accident.

According to our customers’ reviews, the drink tastes like melting ice cream. The Cave Shake goes at $71.91 for a nine-pack, and it works out to $8 per bottle. The product’s average cost to manufacture is $1.86 per unit and sells for $7.99 at retail. This provides a significant margin on the product.

We decided to pitch our product to Shark Tank investors in order for them to aid us with the distribution growth. We entered the show seeking $250,000 for 10% equity in the company, which is valued at $25 million. In 2017, we had $270,000 in sales, and in 2018 we had $182,000 in sales. We handed LA Libations, a beverage industry incubator, 15% ownership of our company. We left the show after making a deal with Charles Barkley of $250,000 for 20% equity in the firm.

The Cave shake was one of Shark Tank’s success stories, albeit under a different name (Space Shake). We changed the name as a condition of the deal made with Charles Barkley. After the appearance on the show, keto became popular in California.

To a young Holly Heath, you should always focus and go for what you want. Don’t let anything or anyone distracts you. Also, you should be fearless and start what you want now and keep in mind that if you don’t ask questions, the answer will always be no. As an entrepreneur, always invest in your marketing because it proves that you care about results and quality. Also, when you are in times of toughness, you should remember why you are doing it.

We are working with our partner, LA Libations, striving to expand our borders beyond Southern California. Also, we are aiming to build an infrastructure for scaling. Even though the product is currently only accessible in Southern California, the drink is sold on Amazon, where it can be shipped to any place in the world.

The company is also making several changes to the product since the time it was on Shark Tank. We ditched the strawberry flavor and changed the packaging from a jar to a pouch. Also, we reduced the serving size calories to 320 and then 210. We wanted to encourage more people to consume Space Shake as a snack rather than replacing it as a meal. The company has also created a bar and is working on a smaller snack-sized container for the beverage.
