Ex-Google engineer charged with stealing AI secrets

Google will hold a special event on August 13 to highlight artificial intelligence technologies as well as improvements to its Pixel products and the Android platform, according to invitations leaked online by the Verge and tech critic Marques Brownlee.
According to the invite image, the event will take place at Google’s Mountain View headquarters, with a keynote commencing at 10 a.m. PT (5 p.m. GMT) and a “hands-on product experience” following.

The Alphabet unit did not immediately reply to a comment request.
Google regularly announces new Pixel smartphones and watches in the autumn.
Earlier this month, competitor Apple launched a series of new generative AI-powered capabilities for its iPhones.
