Alphabet’s (GOOGL.O) Google Cloud has accused Microsoft (MSFT.O) of anti-competitive cloud computing tactics and criticized forthcoming accords with European cloud suppliers, claiming they don’t address licensing issues.

Google Cloud Vice President Amit Zavery encouraged EU antitrust investigators to investigate.

Google Cloud’s first public remarks on Microsoft’s EU accords highlight the competition between the two U.S. tech titans in the multi-billion-dollar cloud computing sector, where Google lags market leader Amazon (AMZN.O) and second-ranked Microsoft.

“Cloud Microsoft is anti-competitive. They are using their dominance in on-premise, Office 365, and Windows to bind Azure and other cloud services together and make it impossible for customers to choose “Reuters interviewed Zavery late Wednesday.

“When we talk to a lot of our customers, they find a lot of these bundling methods, as well as how they impose price and license constraints, make it tough for them to pick alternative providers,” he added.

He criticized Microsoft’s relationships with smaller European cloud suppliers.

A source told Reuters this week that Microsoft has promised to reform its cloud computing operations in exchange for smaller rivals suspending their antitrust charges. As a result, it is preventing an EU inquiry.
