Gradually, America is making changes to stay healthier. People are becoming aware of the effects of gluten, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, corn syrup and many more artery clogging ingredients.

These healthy changes are being brought about in big food companies and restaurants as well; this is helping the consumers to enjoy their favorite snacks guilt free. One such company to join the league of taking the healthy highway is General Mills.

Apparently, the food giant is deciding to stop using artificial flavoring in their breakfast cereals. This means that classic cereals like Trix, Reese’s Puffs, Cocoa Puffs, Cheerios, Chex will now have no artificial flavoring added to it.

The company will be releasing artificial flavor free cereals by the year 2017. The president of General Mills cereal division said,

“We’ve continued to listen to consumers who want to see more recognizable and familiar ingredients on the labels and challenged ourselves to remove barriers that prevent adults and children from enjoying our cereals.”

When he was asked about brands that refuse to choose healthier methods and ingredients, he said,

“They need to be investing, they need to be changing out their product lines with better ingredients and they need to do it very quickly. In the next two to three years, if you’re not moving in the right direction you’re going to see those brands fading rapidly into obscurity.”
