Tim Gavern is the founder of Captain Ice Cream, a novelty ice cream vending truck that travels around the country. He had a dream of bringing the nostalgia of classic ice cream trucks to neighborhoods all over the country with a successful franchise.

Tim Gavern is a young entrepreneur who was born and grew up in the ice cream business. His grandmother and mother were ice cream entrepreneurs who operated their own ice cream shops. Tim did not like the ice cream business. Before deciding to follow in his mother’s footsteps, he used to work in the publishing sector.

I was inspired to start “Captain Ice cream” after the specific line of employment began to decline. I located myself in severe need of a new source of income to maintain myself. After I decided on Captain Ice Cream’s moniker, I bought a scooter and a van to launch my company.

I only earned $200 each day for a four-hour stint. Also, I had a plan to try and manufacture a couple of more mopeds. The cost of producing one of the Captain Ice Cream mopeds is roughly about $7000. The business always makes a profit of $25 an hour. I knew that in order to get the business off the ground.

I entered the Shark Tank show seeking $48,000 for a 25% equity in the Captain Ice Cream business. This is worth a $192,000 valuation. I literally rode my motorcycle to the show and started my presentation. Then I started to explain how I would like to franchise my own novelty ice cream brand. Each ice cream vendor will have their own custom ice cream moped, and they will wear a white uniform when making sales. Finally, I gave out a few samples of the ice cream during the show.

In the show, I told the sharks that I would use the money to build a couple more mopeds. Also, I revealed to the sharks that I own the trademark “captain Ice Cream.”

Barbara Corcoran pointed out that Captain Ice Cream needed something else other than cool mopeds to set the business apart in the industry. Raymond John liked the business, but he did not want to invest in it, so he opted out. I left the show with no deal from the sharks.

To a young Tim Gavern, you should know how to market your business. It is tough to start a small business. The startup market is very competitive. Entrepreneurs should be capable of making a pivot to be successful and keep up with the changing times. If you are passionate about doing something and work hard on it, everything will eventually fall into place.

Failure occurs because people give up if they do not immediately see the results they want. It can appear to be a heroic journey if you are new to entrepreneurship. The journey is all about solving one problem at a time and hitting milestones. Also, you should make sure you have a solid plan. You should know how money is flowing out and coming in.

After the Shark Tank show, I decided to start offering franchising kits online to anyone who might be potentially interested in joining the Captain Ice Cream team. The first kit offered included a new uniform, one of the custom mopeds, 500 business cards, an umbrella, and a royalty fee of $2495. It cost $12,49 to purchase all the things in total. In addition to that, there was also another offer. This was priced at around $44,495, but it also included an ice cream van.
