After an attempt to suppress his testimony was dropped, the panel announced Friday that a former prosecutor who led the Manhattan district attorney’s criminal probe against former U.S. President Donald Trump would testify before a congressional committee in May.
A spokeswoman for the House Judiciary Committee chairman stated Mark Pomerantz would testify on May 12.
He was subpoenaed for the probe that resulted in Trump’s criminal charges.
Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg sued Republican committee head Jim Jordan to prevent the subpoena.
Both sides dropped the appeal on Friday, allowing the deposition.
“We are pleased with this resolution, which ensures any questioning of our former employee will take place in the presence of our General Counsel on a reasonable, agreed upon timeframe,” a Manhattan District Attorney representative said.
