Ford says its European portfolio of smaller commercial vans would feature gasoline and diesel variants, including the electric Courier. In an interview, Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis claimed the new Courier vans are 25% bigger and can carry more.
Cannis claimed the electric Courier would serve European commercial clients in towns like Paris that want to ban combustion cars from city cores. The electric Courier debuts next year.
Cannis said that European nations are not adopting electric automobiles as quickly. “Country by nation,” he remarked. However, this summer, new Petrol Couriers will be released.
“Mix and match all alternatives market by market,” he stated. “It makes things different for new gamers.”
Cannis also said Ford expects many U.S. business fleet customers to obtain $7,500 tax credits for electric Transit vans. In addition, as of April 18, Ford announced that electric Transit van retail buyers would receive a $3,750 tax credit.
Ford and Ernst & Young are advising U.S. commercial customers on whether they qualify for $7,500 Inflation Reduction Act tax credits.
