Ukrainian air raid sirens sounded early Friday, with some locations reporting explosions and officials stating anti-aircraft forces were active in numerous regions.
From 2 a.m. (2300GMT), all regions were alerted.
As Kyiv and central and southern regions lifted alerts, there were no reports of strikes on infrastructure or civilian targets or deaths.
Eastern and western Ukraine had air raid alarms until Friday AM.
On Telegram, Ukraine’s military warned of hypersonic Kinzhal missile attacks from Russian planes. An previous military statement indicated some airborne targets were downed but gave no details.
Drone assaults threatened key districts, the military claimed. Kriviy Rih, Rivne, and Lutsk reported explosions.
Kyiv officials reported anti-aircraft units encircling the capital. Other cities reported similar anti-aircraft operations.
Russian-installed officials in the Moscow-controlled Donetsk region told Tass that Ukrainian forces had fired eight grad missiles into the city after midnight.
Damage and casualties were unknown.
