Paris 2024 organizers have been placing the Olympic flame on the Eiffel Tower; a source told Reuters on Monday.
It was unclear if the flame would remain on the iconic monument throughout the July 26-Aug. 11 sports extravaganza.
The insider said the flame would not be placed at the Eiffel Tower due to technical issues.
The source stated, “It’s been a work in progress for two years.”
They stated that the tower’s antennae prevent the flame from reaching the top.
“The venue for the lighting of the flame on the Opening Day of the Olympic Games has not yet been decided,” said a Paris 2024 spokeswoman to Reuters.
They didn’t deny placing the flame at the Eiffel Tower and wouldn’t say when to announce it.
