The EU warned Monday that any escalation, accident, or use of force by China around Taiwan would have global ramifications.

On Monday, the last day of the blockade, a Chinese aircraft carrier joined combat patrols around Taiwan as Taipei reported another warplane incursion.

“We are alarmed by the rise of military action of the People’s Liberation Army in the Taiwan Strait and surrounding Taiwan, including intrusions in Taiwanese Air Defence Identification Zone and crossing the middle line,” EU Commission spokesman for foreign affairs Nabila Massrali said.

“Avoid forcing change. The area and globe would suffer from Strait escalation, accident, or force “she added.

“Control yourself. Conversation reduces stress. EU and Member States aid regional peace and stability initiatives “she said.
