Marshall Mathers, better known by his music name Eminem, has joined the community of bored apes by purchasing a non-fungible token (NFT) collectible from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) for 123.45 ethereum or $452K at the time of settlement.

According to defillama.com metrics, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs have been very popular this year, with the project seeing over $1 billion in volume worldwide. Eminem has now joined the BAYC bandwagon, purchasing BAYC #9055 on Thursday for 123.45 ether. The image was used as his social media bio picture by the Detroit hip hop star on Twitter.
Furthermore, the new owner of BAYC #9055 is listed on the Opensea platform as “Shady Holdings,” and the portfolio also includes a number of Lil Baby Doodles X NFTs, Ditaggdogg#1 with a stencil image of the rapper, and Superlative Apes #3880.
SABC #2615, Shaq Gives Back #4077, and Adult Fantasy Sub-Dude (130/151) are among Eminem’s other NFTs. The Shady Holdings address, in fact, contains a slew of ERC721 NFTs. Eminem bought BAYC #9055 from Geegazza, the owner of the NFT, who expressed his delight on Twitter. Geegazza remarked:

Eminem has NFTs from 32 different collections
Slim Shady owns 166 non-fungible tokens (NFT) assets from 32 collections, according to dappradar.com metrics. After purchasing BAYC #9055 for 123.45, the address currently holds 1.52 ether. Eminem received 124 ether from an account known as georgio.eth on ENS. That account owns 504 NFTs from 51 different collections, including Bored Ape Yacht Club #4936, and it spent 43.98 ether ($164,832) on two Cryptopunks.
Eminem’s NFT spending spree comes on the heels of his beat-inspired animated NFTs for Stans, which he released in April. Eminem’s NFT sale took place on the Nifty Gateway NFT marketplace. Slim Shady and Paul Rosenberg also joined a slew of venture funds that invested $30 million in the NFT market Makersplace in August.
