After Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race, Democratic Party leaders honored his service and achievements. Republican leaders, including Donald Trump, urged Biden to resign if he couldn’t run again.

After Joe Biden’s historic decision to end his reelection bid on Sunday, leading Democrats praised his legacy, while Republicans demanded his resignation.

Biden’s party loyalists, from former presidents to senators, supported Vice President Kamala Harris’s bid to defeat Donald Trump.

Harris hailed Biden’s “selfless and patriotic act,” stating his accomplishments are “unmatched in modern American history, surpassing the legacy of many Presidents who have served two terms in office.”

Bill and Hillary Clinton said they “join millions of Americans in thanking President Biden for all that he accomplished.”
