Demi Lovato has woken up in a hospital in California after nearly dying from a drug overdose. Previously, the pop star was sober for 6-years and was open about her struggles with addiction. Lovato is truly lucky to be alive.
TMZ reported that Lovato OD’d on heroin but later retracted their statements. Lovato’s friends and family are hesitant to release the drug that almost ended her life. Lovato has always been an open book when it comes to her addiction struggles. In the past, her drugs of choice include cocaine, OxyContin, and alcohol.
Lovato’s representative issued the following statement:
“Demi is awake and with her family who wants to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
Lovato was scheduled to appear on the Fox show Beat Shazam. “We have decided to replace the episode of Beat Shazam with another all-new episode. Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family,” says Fox.
