In the recent times, Target has been in and out of the news for a while now. Intermittent issues like employee problems, policy problems and even being sued sometimes is getting trite for Target the chain superstore.
But this time, they are in the new for a completely different reason. Whether it is good news or bad for the customers, only time will tell. So apparently, the Target pharmacy store will be bought out by CVS Health.
In a $1.9 Billion deal, the CVS chain of drug stores has purchased the Target pharmacy sections. The Target pharmacy will change its names to CVS and all the design of the pharmacy sections may change as well. The sections will now be more compact with the redesign.
Approximately 1, 660 Target pharmacies from 47 different states will be absorbed by CVS. Target will be opening up a few ‘Target Express’ stores that will be small but will have the CVS pharmacy section as well.
Target will have a few below 100 clinics that will be rebranded as ‘Minute Clinic’ and 20 more drug stores will open up at many different targets by the year 2017 or so. Target is surely set for a big change.
