Chiara Lo Faro is an Italian businessperson as well as an entrepreneur. She owns her company after 7 years of being employed in New Delhi.

She moved from Italy to India for a new experience while at 22 years old. Chiara Lo Faro then got employed as a strategic consultant for the foreign market. During that period, she was taking Hindu classes to be conversant with the language. After two years, she decided to shift to the financial industry and secured a job at regional corporate offices. It was through this opportunity that she gathered tools to set up her business.

Since Ciara Lo Faro had learned several languages ie. English, French, Italy, and Hindu, she decided to set up a company. It was to help in strategic collaboration, cultural and language support to foreigners who wanted to work with the Indian government. In 2019, the EICBI named Ciara Lo Faro among the 40 under 40 European Indians in business. She recently delivered a speech at TEDx.

After I had spent around 7 years working around international business, I traveled to Europe. I started comparing the Indian culture, chaos, poverty, and many things with other nations. Over time, I taught myself Hindu while learning some of their cultures. I came to realize that we know little about them. While on my journey to Europe, I thought of a way I could expose their culture to the world. And that is how my company was born.

My typical day starts with checking emails. I quickly respond to urgent texts. Then I sift to my to-do list to make daily activities. I divide my time into portions for learning, connecting with people, and exercising. The gym is my favorite sport I guess. But sometimes when the work is too much I tend to forget.

Big and complex challenges intimidate me. But whenever I feel an idea ringing in my mind, I note it down. I tend to forget about it for a week before I revisit, revise and analyze it. At this moment, I can tell if the idea is worth it or it was just an overwhelming thing. If it’s valid, I take positive steps to transform it into a real-world solution.

Am a happy person about India becoming a preferred destination to millions of people. Most business and leisure activities take place there, which is a positive impact on the nation. I greatly love talking about Indians and the way they run their market. My audience is always international people.

I know it might sound funny, but I try as possible to discover myself from my body. It helps in driving away from my emotions. The positive energy from my results keeps me moving. In my business, I always work like am getting paid by another party. Since I am the founder, I stay focused on my goals. I don’t let emotions interrupt my day.

To a younger Ciara Lo Faro, don’t battle with your inside too much. I once tried to engage in a lot of new things, but fear was all over me. As time goes by, I realized being perfect was too far away from a beginner. Experience and knowledge are what bring the perfection level. Mistakes make us remain strong and productive.

People must agree with me here, the society will criticize you whenever you are at the front row of breaking the negative trend. According to history, there have been hundreds of people who took huge risks to bring a change in society. But they battled with the society’s cultures. We have to keep up with the spirit to protect our future generation.

Connection is something essential to every entrepreneur. Inter-mingle with people, make solid relationships, and invite them into your business. Be very social with people and help them in one way or another. If someone comes and asks for your hand, lend it with your whole heart.

When you set up your business, you always feel like you will perform every duty. On the way, you realized how overwhelming it has become. This trap has made me topple many times. I tried to learn many staffs with several ideas rising, but all were too much for me to handle. My doctor told me to focus on a few things rather than yearning to perform everything.

I highly recommend people to learn difficult languages like Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese. When you become a good translator, you can make a good amount of money.

To matters concerning technology, I invested in SDL Trados studio. It’s one of the best when it comes to translation of languages, You will take time learning how it operates, but it’s the most useful tool.

Reading is part of life as an entrepreneur. The popular book by Hindol Sengupta, “Recasting” has opened up my mind. You can feel how business people from poor families have struggled in their journey to make a thriving business. After reading, you will come up with different definitions of entrepreneurs.

Harry Potter once said that “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers… to turn on the light!”. His books were my inspiration too. As life moves, you get to know how easily frustration can distract your moods. But when the dark fills the room, there is always a solution to every situation. It’s only by little effort that we will change.
