Zhuzhou Rubber Research & Design Institute, a Chinese weather balloon maker, denied involvement in the US-shot-down balloon.

ChemChina subsidiary Zhuzhou Rubber “primarily produces sounding balloons of natural latex in accordance with all applicable norms and regulations.”

“Weather stations use our products for daily weather forecasts,” ChemChina’s website stated.

A Chinese surveillance balloon was blasted off the Atlantic Coast after a week above the U.S. and Canada at President Joseph Biden’s request.

China says it was a government spycraft.

China labeled the U.S. balloon incident “hysterical” and “absurd,” violating international conventions.

Last year, China’s state-owned business regulator stated Zhuzhou Rubber produced 75% of the Chinese Meteorological Administration’s high-altitude balloons.
