China opposes violent attacks in the Middle East crisis. China is opposed to violence and assaults and is very worried about the current escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to a representative for the Chinese foreign ministry on Monday.

“China opposes activities that intensify disputes and threaten regional peace. In answer to a question, spokeswoman Mao Ning remarked at a routine news briefing, “We want to see an early ceasefire, cessation of fighting, and restoration of peace.

In retribution for one of the worst attacks in modern history, in which the Islamist organization Hamas murdered 700 Israelis and kidnapped dozens more, Israel bombarded the Palestinian enclave of Gaza on Sunday, killing hundreds of civilians. “The international community should effectively play its role and work together to cool down the situation,” Mao stated.

“The only way out of the recurring Palestinian-Israeli conflict is to resume peace talks, implement the two-state solution, push for a comprehensive and proper settlement of the Palestinian issue through political means at an early date, and address the legitimate concerns of all parties.”

Separately, the foreign ministry expressed its sadness over the deaths of civilians and asked Chinese nationals visiting the region to keep a careful eye on the local security situation and refrain from venturing out.

To assist Chinese residents and institutions in the Palestinian Territories and Israel, the ministry said that it had immediately activated the consular protection emergency reaction.
