China foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin denied U.S. allegations of a “secret police station” in New York on Tuesday.
Wang told a regular press briefing that these police stations do not exist since China does not interfere in other countries.
On Monday, U.S. federal agents arrested two New Yorkers for operating a Chinese “secret police station” in Manhattan’s Chinatown, prosecutors claimed, as part of a crackdown on Beijing’s suspected targeting of dissidents.
